What we count

We count visits to each page and in which language, whether a visit came from our Instagram page, when an order is started and when it is placed (with its number of plates), when a holiday or tray request is sent (only which page, and in which language), when a vote is counted (only that it was, and in which language), when a stamp card link is asked for (only that it was, and in which language), when a pop-up night is added to a calendar (only that it was, and in which language), when the bag card's question is answered (only that it was, and in which language), whether Find my plate found a plate (only yes or no), when a How was it? answer is noted on an order page (only that it was), which pay app's handle was copied, language switches, and taps on Directions.

Our counting never collects your name, your email, your note, your order number, a pay handle, anything you type, or the full web address you visited. This site sets no cookie for guests.

Our web host, Vercel, adds these up for us as totals.

When you place an order, your name, email and note are emailed to Liz and kept with your order so she can make and hand over your food. We erase them from our records 30 days after your pickup night, or sooner if you email us; the order itself stays only as what was ordered and how many, with nothing that names you. We never keep a phone number, your IP address or any payment details. Orders are also kept on a private kitchen board, which only Liz's kitchen can open after signing in. Holiday and tray requests are kept the same way: their names, email addresses and notes are erased 30 days after the pickup day.

After a night, we keep only counts: plates per dish, plates sold at the counter, when a dish sold out, waste by reason, free plates used and votes. These counts never include a name, an email address, a note or an order number, and they stay after the names, email addresses and notes on orders are erased at 30 days.

The only cookie on this site is the kitchen's own sign-in, which Liz and her kitchen use on their own phones to see orders. It is set only after one of them signs in, it is needed for that and nothing else, and no guest ever gets it.

If you vote, your browser keeps a random number on your own device so your vote is counted once. We store only a scrambled version of it, never your name, email or IP address, and it is not a cookie.

Stamp card: while Liz's stamp card is running and you order ahead, we keep a stamp for each plate you pick up. For that we keep only a scrambled code made from your email address with a secret key (it can't be turned back into your email), how many stamps you have and when each one was earned: never your name, your email or what you ordered. The code is also kept with your order until its 30 days are up; after that, your stamps are not linked to any order. Each stamp, and the code with it, is erased a year after you earned it, so a card with no new stamp for a year is gone completely; a free plate you used is erased with the stamps that paid for it. We erase it all sooner if you email us. Walk-in plates and holiday or tray requests don't earn stamps.

Bag card question: your answer is emailed to Liz once and is never stored. To stop one phone or network from sending too many, we keep a scrambled code made from your connection's IP address with a secret key (it can't be turned back into the address), a scrambled copy of the form's one-time code, and the time. We erase all three within a day. We never keep your answer, your IP address or anything else, and we don't ask for your email.

How was it?: if you tap Good, Okay or Not for me on your order page, we add one to that answer's count for each dish on your order that night and keep only those counts, never which order, name, email or device gave them; a note that your order already answered is kept only until the night is over, so it can't be counted twice.
